This 4-hour intensive course provides a comprehensive exploration of the complex and multifaceted world of sex work. Building on foundational knowledge, this course delves deeper into the historical evolution of sex work, the impact of contemporary laws such as the Nordic Model and FOSTA-SESTA, and the critical role of sex workers as activists and advocates.
Designed for therapists, healthcare providers, activists, researchers, and other professionals, this intensive session will also focus on best practices for working with sex workers. Participants will learn how to create supportive, trauma-informed environments that enhance therapeutic outcomes and foster positive relationships. Through case studies, interactive discussions, and role-playing exercises, attendees will leave with a richer understanding of the legal, social, and health-related aspects of sex work and practical strategies for advocacy and care.
